Andreas Kofler finishes 22nd in Assen's red-flagged second race
A heavy downpour and subsequent crashes on lap 13 led to a red flag ending of the second Supersport World Championship race in Assen, Netherlands. Austrian rider Andreas Kofler of Team Motorsport Kofler was in 22nd place at the time and, with two-thirds of the race distance completed, was classified as such.
"The race was disappointing for me because I simply couldn't cope well with the conditions. I lost contact with the riders ahead of me early on, and then it was a rather lonely race until the red flag," reported the 21-year-old Yamaha rider.
"Nevertheless, we can build on this weekend. This year is a learning year for me, and I, as well as the team, can take a lot away from every race. We're the newcomers this year and are focused on finding our feet in the World Championship," Kofler continued.
The next race awaits the young Austrian in two weeks at the Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary.
