24 Stunden von Le Mans auf Yamaha am Programm des 25-Jährigen
"Le Mans ist schon ein sehr beeindruckendes Rennen, vor allem von der Kulisse her", blickte der 25-Jährige voraus. Einmal Tank leerfahren lautet das Motto bei seinen Schichten im Rennmodus, der einen ganzen Tag dauert. "Außer es regnet, dann fahren wir sogar Doppelstints", fügte er an. Eine Schicht dauert gut eine Stunde, dann steigt der nächste Fahrer wieder auf das Motorrad auf.
Zu dritt müssen sich die Fahrer dann abwechseln um die 24 Stunden zu absolvieren, "Es ist schon ziemlich anstrengend, wenn man bedenkt, dass ein normales Rennen zwischen einer halben Stunde und 50 Minuten dauert. Zwar gehst du auf der Langstrecke nicht so an dein Limit, aber es ist schon extrem fordernd durch die Länge", so Kofler.
Speziell ist in dem französischen Traditions-Motorsport-Ort auch die Nacht. "Die Strecke ist aber gut ausgeleuchtet, von dem her ist die Umstellung nicht so groß. Die Temperaturen sind aber frisch und speziell bei schlechten Witterungsbedingungen musst du sehr vorsichtig sein", weiß Kofler. Das Rennen beginnt am Samstag um 15.00 Uhr und endet am Sonntag um die selbe Zeit.

After competing in two FIM Endurance World Championship races last year, Maximilian Kofler will be riding a Yamaha R1 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend. He will share the riding duties with German Lennox Lehmann and Australian Max Stauffer at the German team Motobox Kremer Racing by 321.
"Le Mans is a truly impressive race, especially because of the atmosphere," the 25-year-old remarked. The motto for his shifts in race mode, which last a full day, is to run the tank dry. "Unless it rains, then we even do double stints," he added. A shift lasts about an hour, then the next rider gets back on the bike.
"Le Mans is a very impressive race, especially because of the atmosphere," the 25-year-old said. The three drivers will take turns completing the 24-hour race. "It's quite exhausting, considering a normal race lasts between half an hour and 50 minutes. While you're not pushing yourself to the limit in an endurance race, the sheer length of the event makes it extremely demanding," says Kofler.
The nighttime conditions are also a unique aspect of the race at this traditional French motorsport venue. "The track is well-lit, so the adjustment isn't too drastic. However, the temperatures are cool, and you have to be very careful, especially in bad weather," Kofler explains. The race starts at 3:00 PM on Saturday and ends at the same time on Sunday.
